Mabel Teaches Finn About Healing
About the Book
The story is true
Today, 24 years after the fire, Mabel's scar and missing branches are still visible. But every spring she dresses in brilliant green and becomes a home for robins and squirrels. Every fall she becomes "sunshine and cinnamon." In the winter, she rests. The new tissue she's building is slowly growing over her injury. It's been a long healing process. Her circumference was 72 inches when the fire happened. Today it's 94 inches. We feel privileged to be able to watch her and to learn from her example.
